HOME!

I am finally enjoying Christmas break and liven the good life! lol. Of course, when I get home I realize that my apartment that I am living in at school has a bigger kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom them my house in Petersburg. When I arrived home I was very puzzled at this smallness of my home and it took me a few minutes to realize that the house also has wood in it. In my roomates' and I apartment there is no dark wood only really light wood. Therefor it not noticed as much. But all of these minor differences aside, lets move on to the bigger differences.

The tv at the house is MUCH smaller then the one at the apartment. At least it still works though. Also the bed that I am sleeping in at the house is MUCH smaller as well. But this is all ok because I am home.

So Peace Out!

More about Pets

One way to tell if you are pet deprived: you start talking to yourself. Yep, I do this all the time. And it is because there is no animal to focus my cuddly lovey attitude to. :( tis very sad. I do have a fish named Twinkle but he cannot understand my loud language. I also can't hold him so although Twinkle is a great pet he does not satisfy my need of some animal to touch.

Since the apartment that I am in does not allow pets all I have is my computer. Well mostly youtube. I love how people put their cute pet videos on youtube for all to see. It makes me feel happy to see a cat playing with a bearded dragon!

Yes, I said bearded dragon. So far I have not been able to get them out of my obsession zone of my brain. For those of you who don't know I have a little, what I like to call, obsession zone in my brain. It is not super hard core where I am like a crazy drug addict. It is just when I get an EXTREME liking for some random thing because I saw it somewhere. The focus of this obsession zone has ranged from certain types of songs, to origami, to action movies. And right now that part of my brain has been focused on Bearded Dragons.

Look how fat that one is! These marvelous creatures are supposed to have a wide spread palate of personalites. I have been researching and reading about other people experiences on a forum called beardeddragon.org. It is cool to look at peoples successes and hardships though dragon owning. It just makes me all the more excited to get one!!! And I WILL GET ONE! someday.....

Tootles!

Lizardalicious

I have big plans. What plans? After college plans. Yes, these plans are big! Well not life changing big but still big none the less. After college I have decided to get a pet. Now the type of put may change over the four years that I have left in college (It has already changed once) but despise my constant change of pet species to get I will still get one, no matter what!

So at first I was going to get an oscar fish. These fish are very big fish and they take a lot of work but I have read that the efforts are worth it. These fish are supposed to form bonds with their owners and even have their own personalities. This is very good. I want a pet with personality (Moe is one of my such pets with a huge personality).

However, my prospects on getting an oscar fish soon changed when my roommate and I got a tadpole. Somehow the addition of another aquatic species spurred my enthusiasm to get a lizard! I am so excited to et a reptilian friend that I have been frantically looking for the correct species to get.

After much research I decided that I will get a Bearded Dragon. I have decided upon this species because, from what I have read, it is the most physically active and friendly lizard (and it wont loose its tail!). Bearded dragons sound the best for me because:

  • They are diurnal
  • They are omnivores
  • they are loving and nice even with kids (not that there will be any kids around my lizard)
  • They love to be pet and love attention
  • They are easy to take care of
  • They can get up to 2 feet long
It is because of these facts that I have decided to get one of these lizards. I know that the lizard my family had when I was a child was very mean and we eventually had to get rid of him, but I feel that if I get this bearded dragon as a baby and raise it myself it will grow to love and cherish me!

That is all,

Jeremiah was a Bullfrog

We are always looking for new members to add to our family in our Anchorage home. Say hello to our newest member Jeremiah.

I can't wait till he gets older! I will be sure to post updates on his metamorphosis. We got him for three bucks (pluss gas costs because we could NOT find the Fred Meyer on Diamond Blvd.) and it was worth it... so far. Hopefully Jeremiah will survive to adulthood.

Of Cuteness and Deliciousness

So this morning I decided to go on an adventure and make myself some crepes. Though they are not as good as the Bells' :)

They were not as hard to make as I thought they were going to be but they did turn out to be a bit funky looking. This is because I don't have a no-stick round pan to use. This caused me to use the square skillet. I also think that my funny looking crepes are due to the thickness of the batter. Fortunately shape has nothing to do with taste!

After they were done I filled one with whipped cream and cinnamon, one with just cinnamon and sugar, and another with whipped cream and sugar. They were all pretty good!

On a different topic... My roommate got me the cutest kleenex box of tissues!! It is smaller then normal and ten times more cute!!!

That is all.

New Car

Have you ever been surprised? Well of course you have! And a few weekends ago I was surprised with my mom and S-mom comming to Anchorage to visit me. I had been having the "homesickness" quite more often then last year and so I think that was a main contributing factor to why my mother came up here. However another contributing factor to why my mother came up to anchorage was to BUY ME A CAR!!! WOOT!!!

I was contemplating dedicating a post to my car or not but I decided that it must be done! So here I go..

My car is Called the SSS and it is a Toyota Rav4 limited eddition. I don't know any big thing besides the heated seats that make the limited eddition Rav's better then the normal ones. However it was more expensive and so that means that it was better.

See the sveltness of it!!! Squee!!! It is so CUTE!

*note the V6 in the grill!
I love its smell too. It smells like new leather! That is mostly because it is a new car with new leather seats that have butt warmers!! This is a very handy thing to have especially in colder weather.
It also has 2 glove box compartments, can call people without picking up the cell phone, and has a 6cd player!
More cool features that my car entails are the push button lock which locks up the car without having to use the key...

And a push button start!

All in all this car is very smart and amazing!! I can't wait to show it off to the town of Petersburg when the time comes!

Extra Credit + Filipino

Extra credit is a thing of wonder. I love it so much because weather you need it or not, it is usually a good thing to do. In the case of Psychology extra credit is actually a fun thing. For this extra credit we had to go and listen to a guy named Kevin Nadal. He was pretty good but is was mainly for comedy. There were some situations where he talked about how people think of Filipinos but he mainly focused his reel on his hilarious family members.

Anyway, the room he was performing in was so packed that people had to wait out in the hall!!! I was glad that I went there early. While I was waiting for the show to start I started waiting my thoughts down...

"So being early to something like this makes me feel akward. Especially when I sit alone. I can look around this small auditrium type thing and I see that there are also other people is the same position I am in. They are also sitting alone. I wonder if they came alone or if they are waiting for their partner(s) to show up.

"It also makes me glad that I am not only white girl here. It would be really embarassing! I guess this is Filipino history appreciation month.

"They just offered us early people food! Time to eat! And it is so good! It makes me miss Aunt Melva's food.

"More people are comming in now. I think this guy is going to be good. :)"

That is my schpeel.

No + Internet

The Internet is such a magnificent tool. To me it feels like one of the main pillars of my life. And I say this because when I am without the Internet I feel so CONSTRICTED!!! I feel all alone!! No more facebook! No more email! No more eye candy! Whatever will I do?

Well I guess that means it is time to get creative. I am so lucky that I have a back up for fun! I put a bunch of origami instructions, picture, and different tutorials on how to draw on my external hard drive. This thing has saved me more then just once. The “eGo” (nicknamed “Stephs eGo” HAHAHA get it?) hard drive has helped me in my time of not Internet for a long time now. The most I used it was when I was fishing last summer. So taking this into consideration, all is not lost.

I should also decorate my room with some origami. I have been meaning to do this for a long time, and now I finally have time to do it!! How fantastic is that???

Oh and btw, I wrote this at the apartment where we turned the modem off in fear of overdosing our GCI Internet download limit. However, the wonderful university has free Internet so if I have some dire need to use the Internet (like to post this) I can always us it there.

Toodles!

Blog trouble + chocolate

Adventrous people. What the heck?
I start typing any I see that the font for typing is dfferent then it has been. Now, I am a person who can accept change ONLY if I FEEL like it is benifiting me in some way. Changing the typing font to times new roman and then making it smaller is not benificial to me! Why must Blogger.com do this to me!!!
Sigh

Anyway, I dont even remember what I was trying to say. Oh well. Next topic of discussion.... hunger. Props to my roommate for inspiring me. I actually did not have a topic but she said something about being hungry and I feel like I have to say something on this subject.

I love food. I do not know of one person who does not like food. Especially chocolate (because it is better then kissing says scientists). Especially chocolate covered COFFEE BEANS!!! It is almost like I can't stop eating them.

I also do not understand how people cannot like coffee. I guess there are some things in this world that I will never understand :(

lol It looks like I didn't really even talk about hunger at all.
Well I am through trying to edit this stupid post. Nothing is going nicely. And spell check aint worken.
Peace Out,

Old + new

I love new technology. I love adapting to new technology. It is always fun to get a new and up to date technology toy that you can show off to your friends.

I still remember when we used to have a old gateway computer. I don't really remember a whole lot about the keyboard and mouse, but I do remember that the monitor of that computer was very large. I can't really compare it to anything because my memory of the old gateway is still a little fuzzy. But at that time in my childhood that gateway was the bomb. I could even play games on it such as "Jump Start".

And now I have another awesome computer. My beautiful macbook has made me so happy!!! At first it came with a broken fan but once I got that fixed nothing else bad has happened (knock on wood).

I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Life + Questions

What is the secret to life? 42.

Yes, I know you are probebly like "what the..." but If you don't understand here is a different take on the question of life.

On  the first day, God created the dog and said, "Sit all day by the door of your  house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past.  For this, I will give  you a life span of twenty years."

The dog said, "That's a long time to be  barking.  How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other  ten?"

So God agreed......

On  the second day, God created the monkey and said, "Entertain people, do tricks,  and make them laugh.  For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life  span."
The  monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years?  That's a pretty long time to  perform.  How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"

And God  agreed......

On the third day, God created the cow and said, "You must go into the field with  the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to  support the farmer's family.  For this, I will give you a life span of  sixty years."

The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to  live for sixty years.  How about twenty, I'll give back the other  forty?"

And God agreed again......

On the fourth day, God created humans and said, "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life.  For this, I'll give you twenty years."

But the human said, "Only twenty years?  Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God.  "You asked for it."

So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves.  For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our family.  For the next ten years, we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren.  And for the last ten years, we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information.  I'm doing it as a public service.
(source of info comes from Maximo's owner)

Got a better understanding?  Good :)

Cat + Brain mapping

Cats are very complex creatures. That is why they are better then most pets out there. Cats can think for themselves and act like they know best, even when they really don't. It is because of their strong personality that make cats my favorite pets. By far.

Here is just a sample of that magnificent brain.

Isn't the cat brain just wonderful?

Job+Mario

Many people have trouble with choosing the Job or field that they need to go to college for. There is always the possibility of switching majors mid flight (this is my case) or even discovering a new talent that makes your life worth wile. And if you still don't know what job to do here are a few suggestions.

There, did that help out at all? :P

Academic Hurdles

Everyone hates to get bad test scores. That is why we (and when I say "we" I mean "I") usually strive to beat these tests by studying, cramming, and shoving information down our throats hoping and praying that somehow our minutely small stomachs will be able to digest this massive amount of information without throwing it back out into the toilet. Well, on this go around that process did not work.

It felt like the test was this big, huge, grizzly bear coming to eat me. I though that I had a 270 rifle, but in reality all I had were the rocks at my feet. I don't know if you know much about bears, but if you want to kill one you do it with a powerful gun, not a small rock. I guess that I just though that if I hit the metaphoric bear hard enough with the metaphoric rocks it would leave me be. Oh man, was I wrong. You see, I think that I actually stunned the bear with those rocks. He looked at me and I though that I had everything under control... until I was suddenly on the ground getting mauled by that metaphoric bear. I have since recovered mentally from the attack but the scars will forever remain on my grade in Organic Chemistry.

Don't freak out, this bear is just a metaphor that I was using to explain how I felt during and after the test. I have never actually been mauled by a bear. I don't think I would survive if that happened!

Sigh

Well guess I have to study better for the next test. And I mean STUDY!!!! I think I have a problem learning new things that don't immediately tie to endorphins cause I sure do suck at school.

TV Favs

I have already listed my favorites when it comes to heroes and villains but guitargirl influenced me to to tell more of my favorites when it comes to TV. As most of you well know, unless you live out in the woods and are one with nature like akbrittni :),  there are lots of people on TV these days. Weather they are the important main character of a sadistic plot to destroy the world or a bystander that gets killed right at the beginning of the movie.

Different people favor different people. And here are my favorites.

Hugh Laurie- He is absolutely amazing. He has managed to become one of my most favored actor. I find it even more amazing that he can do an american accent so well when he is actually from England. And to my amazement he is 51.

Steve Carell- He is my favorite funny person. I love his humor especially in the office. I can't wait to see the new movie with him in it :). He is 58.

Gerard Butler- I have just started to take an interest in him. He has only stared in a couple of movies that I know actually got high publicity but I love him anyway. He can be the good guy like in P.S. I Love You and he can also be the bad guy like in the movie Law Abiding Citizen. I like actors that can successfully do multiple personalities.

George Cloony- He is like the actor of all actors. I think he has millions on award nominations and some of which he won. He is also a good actor at being whatever the director wants him to be.

Ewan McGregor- I just love this guy. He fell into my favorites on his movie The Island. That movie is one that I will always love and remember. It has a good plot with great graphics. Though this guy along with many other actors have had some bad movies they have also had some good ones as well.

Hahaha, I just noticed that all of these guys are male. I guess that I will have to do another post sometime in the future on my favorite female actors. :)

Blog Award

So as you can see, I spiffed up my blog again but this time I think that my blog looks ten times better than before. Now if only I had photoshop so I could make my own layout background..... sigh.
The reason that I changed my blog again was because I got an award from netsirK.
Since I did not think that my blog was that beautiful I changed it to be so. And now I am pretty proud of myself!!! And of course there is a catch to getting this award. I have to 1.)thank the person who nominated me, 2.)copy the award and paste it to my blog, 3.)tell everyone seven interesting facts about myself, 4.)pass the award on to 15 other bloggers, and 5.)contact the people I nominate to tell them that they have won. So here goes step three.

1-I absolutely love House!!!!
2- I have perfect toes.
3-I searched high and low on how to download youtube vids.
4-Cats rule and dogs drool, end of story
5-I love intense movies.
6-I may have "Jumping Frenchman syndrome", look it up
7-I don't know what I would do without my cat.

Now to nominate.... I nominate netsirK,  akbrittni, and RoENinaE. This is because these are the only people who comment on my blog :).

So yes, now is the time for me to go tell them that they have one.

Backwards + trident

I have noticed that there are many things that I do backwards. Ever since I started fishing I have coiled ropes the wrong way, tied nots left handed, and many other things that I have done left handed. Now, I would call myself ambidextrious but I am not left handed. My left hand cannot lead no matter how much I will it to. I have tried to write left handed and it just turns into disaster. So what is going on with me??

Another instance of my left side taking over was when I was in track. I preferred to lead with my left leg when I started running for some reason. My logic was that by leading with my left leg my right leg can stretch farther....

To switch topics, on sunday we cleaned all of the cars and while doing so I found an old trident wrapper.
I was very excited when I found this because I have not seen this kind of wrapper for a while. I remember this was my favorite flavor of gum when I was little. So delicious, Actually I haven't tasted this type of gum in a long time. Guess my purse needs to be restocked a little :)

So that is about it for now,

Free songs

I don't know about you but I love free stuff. Every so often I will search for such things to boost my self confidence. There are places all over the web where you can get free things such as songs and samples. I actually received a free sample of Crest 3D white strips and found that they are not nearly as bad as people say they are. I also discovered that cologne samples are very, very, very strong *cough*.

There are also free songs on the internet that one could download. A site that pleases me so far is beemp3.com. They have done a wonderful job of providing lots of essential songs that please me. Go take a look and see for yourself. :)

Strengh comes with age

So today father decided that we needed to chop some wood. At first I was very down about the whole situation but then I started thinking positively. I thought that this was actually very good exercise for me and what else was I going to do with my time??? Nothing! So I finally realized that all of this was actually a good thing for me.

Anyway, I started stacking the heavy chunks of wet wood and I realized that I am stronger than the last time that I stacked wood. Either that or the wood chunks were smaller which was highly unlikely. This means that all of that packing that I did with my friend paid off!!! Hahaha. We did some massive packing and cramming for finals during the last week of school. All in all it was good for us to be so busy even though it was hard at the time.

I have to tell you that I also got a cover for my keyboard!!! It looks pretty shweet. And the plus to this is that my typing is much quieter than it used to be. This is a good thing because my sis would always nag at me when it is time for bed. She would ask me "are you done typing yet?" lol. Now I am able to type quieter!

I would highly recommend getting one.

Airport + lines

I am sitting in the Anchorage airport and I have realized that I have come to like more crowded places only under some conditions.  So almost everyone has or knows about airports and going though security and all that crap. Well I really don't like it when there are tons of people in the security line. But what I do like is all of the people in the terminal. It makes if feel so much better and more.... socialized. Strange, I know, But I actually do like it.

Another thing where I like lots of people but not the lines are in other social areas like the malls and other stores. But I HATE the lines in these places too. Every time I go to these places like fred meyer or wallmart I get a little flash of anger that surges through my system because I realize that people can be SO SLOW!!! I mean, literally moving at a snails pace. But I guess everyone just wants a piece of the pie....

This was a line that was produces as an outcome of everyone wanting to get the flu shot. I never got one but I don't think I have ever gotten one. And I have not got the flu yet (knock on wood).

Oh, And be sure to listen to some songs on my playlist. I am really going to try to get good songs on my playlist this go around.

Tally ho!

End of the Semester

Oh man, I am SO tired. Gah. Today I spent all day packing my room and my friends room. It was a big strain on the body but I did manage to get most of my packing all done. All that is left out is the necessary stuff that I need to get through the next day with like shower stuff, alarm clock, blanket, makeup, ect....

Yes, this is a lot to be doing on a day that I should be studying for my final but I really don't see how teachers expect us to have time to study when we are busy packing and getting ready to leave the campus!!! I mean come on! But of course they don't know.....

Sigh, I guess I should get back to studying about biology. Ug. Someone kill me now (not literally of course :P)

Here is a picture for your thoughts,

Last day of classes

Today is the last day of classes and I am pretty happy about it. And to top it off I am going to a Sigma BBQ at 5:30 so that will be fun as well.

So that test that I previously blogged about was not nearly as good as I thought it was going to be. I got a 36 on it and that made me really sad. The class average was a 47 though so that is still an F. HAHAHAHAH!!! There has to be something wrong with use or the teacher or something because an average test score of an F is not very good at all. But the good thing about this is that the teacher allows "point recovery". This is where you are able to gain back half of the points that you missed to give you a higher score. Of course I did this and this brings my test score up to a 68. This is much better.

On a different note I found this picture drawn on the stall in the bathrooms.

Hahaha this made me laugh out loud when I saw it. I never knew someone could be a fan of "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy".

Heheheh. Well that really brightened up my day.

Peace out,

Blog Probelms

I have just been notified that there were specific problems with my blog. That made me sad, but not too sad. As much as I say that I don't like reformatting my blog, there is still a part of me that likes looking at something new and fresh. However, today is not the day. I looked around the internet for a while but I am just so tired that I don't really care anymore today. This is what my blog is going to look like for a while until I can find something better suited to Momentus Moments. I would really like to find something cat based but that most likely will not happen.

Anywway... I am almost done with this weeks hardships. Tomorrow I have to give a speech and than after that I AM FREE!!! Well free for 3 days at least. Then comes finals. Boy does this end of the semester feel like it is taking forever!!! I guess that is a good thing so that I have time to get everything else that I have to do done. I also wrote a paper in three days and I was pretty impressed with myself for that too. My paper was on the predation of Paramecium caudatum by Daphnia pulex. It was a pretty complex paper but after I revised it I felt very happy with myself.

So now I am tired and I will go to bed.

My last rant is how iPods need to have a longer battery supply cause mine keeps dying and I dislike charging it every night. I guess that if I would not sleep with it all night I could get more juice out of it.....

Ah well.

PS. can you guess who this that is in the picture????

3rd Chem test today

Today was the big chemistry test. Well... it is actually not that big. This was the last test before the final next week. I think that I did pretty good on it. I compared some of my answers that I wrote on the scratch paper with my friend and we quite a few of them that were the same so that usually means that we got them correct. she is pretty smart so I wouldn't be surprised if she gets a good grade on this test.

Also today I tried one of those "Naked" juices for the first time. They are really good! There is no sugar added, or if there was they did a pretty good job of hiding it in the nutrient facts :P. These juices are made with real fruit like apples, bananas, and raspberries and such. And the good thing about these juices is that they fill you up quickly just like a smoothie, without the fat of course.

See how delicious it looks?

The reason I would spend so much money on a drink is because I am transferring to anchorage. But as the day slowly approaches to me to transfer the more reasons keep on stacking up for me to stay in Fairbanks. First off it is cheaper. There is a grant that is worth 7,000 free dollars but UAA does not offer this. Also I have 700 buck on my munch money card that is non refundable. So once I am done with this semester that money will vanish. This is a big pain in the but because that is a TON of money that I am loosing by transferring.
My decision is already made but I feel really bad now because I am just spending all this money for no reason at all. I really don't even know if it is worth it..... I mean there are lots of people in the world.

Can just one person make a difference? And just an average one at that.

Peace Out,
Moenator

Procrastination

I have come to the conclusion that if I would have kept drawing my entire life like my sister I would be pretty darn good. I hope this is a good conclusion to make, but of course your own work always looks good until three days later. And then when you look back at your art you just go "huh," because your drawing or creation or whatever never really was that good to start off with.

Though there are some drawings that still look good ten years down the road but those drawings come from loads of practice. I have been practicing drawing some. I have wanted to be an artist for a long time but motivation is a hard thing for me to overcome. And motivation is not just needed in the art aspect of my life. It also is a problem with my WHOLE LIFE!!!! I hate to start things for some reason. Biology papers, chemistry extra credit, speeches, ect...

So i am sick with procrastination. *sigh* How do I get rid of it?

Peace out,

Drawings + me = What the....

So as I previously stated in the last post I was feeling down so I decided to draw something while listening to netsirK's playlist on her blog (good music!!!).

At first I was going to draw a real human face. But then I wanted to draw something more like anime. But once I was done with the eyes I saw that I had a little mix of both. *sigh*. Alas, I could not accomplish a full anime or a full realistic look. This is my first drawing of a face that was facing in MY direction so I had absolutely NO IDEA what to do with the mouth. But whatever. And I also was trying to draw a boy... but he looks more like a really young feminine boy..... Oh well...

Here are all of my pics that I have drawn in my notebook so far!!!

So that is what I got.

Peace Out,
Moenator
